Fruit of the Loom - The Company

Fruit of the Loom is one of the world’s best-known textile manufacturers and was founded in 1851 in the USA. This makes Fruit of the Loom one of the oldest registered trademarks, even older than e.g. Coca-Cola. Many know the brand from retail, where the textiles are usually offered with a clearly visible Fruit of the Loom logo.

Fruit of the Loom also offers promotional textiles for textile printing, they were the first global brand to enter the European textile print market in the 1980’s. With 3 different t-shirt models, which differ in the grammage of the fabric and which still exist today, they created 3 t-shirt classics:

The Original T (formerly also Screen Stars Full Cut) for the promotional area made of a light, relatively thin cotton fabric
The Value Weight T-shirt for everyday use, which is now also available in a women’s and fitted cut
The super premium t-shirt with a fabric weight of approx. 200g/sqm.

In 2002, Fruit of the Loom was acquired by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Group.

More than 28,000 employees work for Fruit of the Loom worldwide today. All systems of the company and its suppliers are WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) checked.

High-quality materials such as cotton tested for harmful substances and cotton-lycra are the basis of the quality of the textiles. Almost all models are ideal for printing or embroidery thanks to the Belcoro yarn.
